Additionally, Holt was able to make the first track-type tractor (AKA Dozer) by replacing the rear wheels of his steam tractor with a pair of tracks he had designed leading to the name of the company today “Caterpillar”, his invention helped farmers around Northern California and River Valley prepare their soil for farming as the steam truck was getting stuck in the soggy peat soil.
